The Kedarnath Temple, This old and glorious temple is in the Rudra Himalayan range on the banks of the River Mandakini. Snow Cladded Mountain peaks, ancient temple walls, divine jyotiriling that is said to be doors toward salvation. The ethereal aura of this place attracts millions of people every year.
BEST TIME TO VISIT.

Best
time to visit during April to September. During the month of October to
November this place closes as the roads and areas surrounding the temple become
snow bound.

THE DIVINE ABODE OF LORD SHIVA- THE KEDARNATH
TEMPLE.

Made with chunks of stones interlocked with
iron clamps, the temple comprises an outer hall venerating Goddess Parvati,
Lord Krishna, the Pandavas,
and various other mythological deities. Just outside the main temple
door is a statue of Lord Shiva’s vaahan – Nandi,
while the linga inside
the sanctum sanctorum is a curious triangular-shaped structure. Lord
Shiva is said to reside here in the form of Sadashiva.
While the senic and ethereal beauty will appeal
to your visiual senses and the aroma of spirituality will charge and heal your soul.
HOW TO REACH KEDARNATH?
The
journeys of Kedarnath begin from Haridwar or Risikeh. But I suggest you to
start, it from Haridwar. Kedarnath is well connected through road via major cities such as
Chandigarh (387 km), Delhi (458 km), Nagpur (1421 km), Bangalore (2484 km) or
Rishikesh (189 km). You can opt out train journey till Haridwar, Kotdwar or
Dehradun or air route too if suitable till Dehradun.
KEDARNATH FROM HARIDWAR.
From Haridwar every day morning buses start
to Gaurikund. Advance bookings can
be made at GMOA (Garhwal Mandal owners Association) office in front of the
railway station. It takes almost one full day journey to reach Gaurikund if
there are no Landslides. Bus journey is very beautiful because most of the 240
kms is ghat road journey with many mountains around and river Ganges following
you through out the way.

→ Linchauli (4 Kms) → Kedarnath (3 Kms).
